Program Founder / Director
Mrs. Song holds a B.A. and M.S. in Biological Sciences and is passionate about making science tangible and real. She teaches AP Biology and AP Environmental Science at Castaic High School and Biology 101 at College of the Canyons. Her hope is to motivate students to engage in real science inquiry by participating in the research process.
Lead Instructor / Mentor
Michael is a staff researcher at the Nathanson Lab at UCLA, leading animal studies to develop next-gen, brain-penetrant therapies for glioblastoma. He first joined as an undergraduate researcher in 2021 and has since graduated from UCLA ('24) with a Molecular Biology B.S. and Biomedical Research minor. He is applying to medical schools in 2025.
Lead Instructor / Mentor
Allie graduated from UCLA ('24) with a B.S. in Biochemistry and is now a staff researcher at the Nathanson Lab at UCLA, having first joined as an undergraduate researcher in 2022. She leads cellular studies investigating novel, mutant-selective therapies for glioblastoma. She will begin her PhD at USC in their Pharmaceutical and Translational Sciences program in 2025.

Dr. Tseng is a Professor of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and is the principal investigator at UCLA Liquid Biopsy Laboratory. His research aims to develop minimally invasive molecular diagnostic technologies for oncology and prenatal screening.
